Introducing our Monthly Writing Contest!

Writer: Singularity PressSingularity Press

From March 6th to March 29th, 2025, Singularity's monthly writing contest is officially open for submissions!

We're looking for flash fiction (1,000 words and below) as well as poetry (50 lines and below) from all authors nationwide, but have a particular aim to get submissions from authors belonging to marginalized communities, specifically BIPOC and LGBTQIA+ contributors. Our team of interns will preside over all submissions and choose a winner every monthly submissions window.

Winners of the contest will have their winning piece featured on the Singularity Press homepage until the next winner is selected. They will also get a dedicated biography and interview posted to our blog as well as a shout out in our newsletter.

For more information regarding our submission guidelines, visit the dedicated Monthly Contest section on our site. Happy writing, and good luck!

FAQs:

Q: Do I have to include my real name? What if I write under a pseudonym?

A: We will accommodate any and all name-related requests, whether that means you are to be credited with a pseudonym or if there is a specific name you would like to be referred with during our interview and accompanying blog post.

Q: How often can I submit?

A: Each submitter is allowed one entry per category (flash fiction and poetry) per each submission window. One may not submit 2 flash fictions or 2 poems.

Q: How will I know if I won?

A: We will notify winners on the last day of the submission's window.
